the love language. . .

As I sit and listen to this record while writing this, I want you to listen to The Love Language’s new album, Baby Grand. I want you to listen to it, because I don’t want my opinion and experience overshadow or distort you impression of this music. But mostly i want you to listen to it because it’s just simply beautiful.

I’ve been following The Love Language, a band put together in Raleigh, NC by Stuart McLamb, since 2008. I read an article in Relix about new music to check out and there they were, a flower child’s dream. Fresh nostalgia for a time I’d never lived in.

All recorded on a 4-track, which made it infinitely more nostalgic.

It’s all a dream

You’ll come to see

A broken stream

Of memories

Now, I’m going to be honest with you. When the singles were released for this record, I was left….wanting more. Or less. I wanted something else. But, when Baby Grand came out and I listed tot he whole thing from start to finish, it was a masterpiece. I had been a music snob and I am sorry. I am a changed woman,

The bass is humming and breathing behind these harmonies, that envelope and contract you like a warm sun and cool breeze fight for your skins attention.

Southern Doldrums

Cellophane

My favorites on the album – but it’s all pretty solid. I hope you go take a listen, cheers
